For All of You Demoralized Educators Out There ...

Artists who did and taught included Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Rembrandt, Thomas Eakins, Matisse, Paul Klee, and Vassily Kandinsky.

So remember this, if you make hundreds of millions of dollars in a year by gutting productive companies in order to pay off the buy-out loans and ruin communities by shipping all the manufacturing to China or Cambodia to take advantage of near slave-labor wages, then you're a hero of Capitalism.

People making $250,000 and more are the working poor.

If you make $50,000 to $70,000 per year teaching anything at any level, you're a greedy parasite.

So let's review: up is down, war is peace, hot is cold, night is day, black is white, and all the world gets run over at a zebra crossing.

Most teachers can face themselves in the morning. I wonder if very many corporate raiders can. As a friend of mine once said, it doesn't matter whether or not you believe in God, you don't want to die knowing that you're an asshole.

Tip of the beret to Susan Hedges.

I wish legislators could see this, AND believe it because as a teacher (Some time ago sadly) I felt as many do now - that we aren't valued, and have never been. We're simply numbers too be crunched and eliminated.
